Price and Scope Your Services

What does a job really cost you?

Preparation, coordination and revisions belong in the calculation. Use 16 assignments, practical cases and an offline calculator to build traceable costs and clear service boundaries.

Who it is for

Independent service providers and small service businesses that want a repeatable quoting process.

What is included

8 lessons, 16 assignments, worked cases, offline calculator and quote worksheets.

How you learn

Written self-study course with PDF, fillable workbook and offline learning pages. No videos, live coaching or individual assessment.

A look inside the practice

Flyer: briefing 0.5 h, design 2 h, coordination 0.5 h, one revision round 1 h, checking and export 0.5 h = 4.5 h. At 50/h this is 225. Direct costs of 15 give a cost base of 240. If revision takes two hours instead of one, the base rises to 290.

View a task and its review

Exercise 5: Cost a job with 3 h delivery, 0.5 h preparation, 0.5 h follow-up, a floor of 50 and materials of 20. Exercise 6: Repeat with one extra hour. Which assumption should you clarify before quoting a fixed price?

Normal: 4 × 50 + 20 = 220. With one extra hour: 5 × 50 + 20 = 270. Clarify what causes the extra hour, such as condition, access or additional scope. Do not present the low estimate as confirmed when it is still an assumption.

Your eight lessons

  1. Define what you actually sell
  2. Plan realistic billable capacity
  3. Build the job cost base
  4. Markup, margin and the price decision
  5. Write a quote that supports a decision
  6. Agree changes before starting them
  7. Review actual job performance
  8. Your reusable quoting system

What you need

Your own time and cost estimates, a calculator or the included offline calculator. All example amounts are fictional currency units before tax, not market-price recommendations. This course does not replace tax or legal advice.

Allow roughly 25–45 minutes per lesson plus personal practice. Read first, attempt the task before opening the answer, compare and record one correction. Timing is a guide and depends on your pace.

You receive a ZIP package with coursebook, fillable workbook, tools and local HTML learning pages. Extract the ZIP and open the learning pages in your browser without an additional account. PDF forms require a compatible PDF reader.
